![]() What to expect if you come: The fears loom large! They’ll probably be jumping pews or participating in other such weirdness. They’ll probably want me to stand up and introduce myself to a bunch of strangers. They’ll beg me for money. They’ll be all dressed up. They’ll completely loose me in the worship or bore me to death. Not at this church … Instead you may expect … To Be Welcomev You are welcome no matter who you are, what you do or what your background is. This church is not just for those who were born to a Baptist family. It is not a church just for the young or the old, for singles or families, for the rich or the poor. v You may drop your family off under our drive through. Our building is completely handicap accessible. v You will be warmly welcomed and given a bulletin outlining the worship service, announcements, prayer requests and a handy section for taking notes during the sermon or for letting your kids draw on. v A greeter will take you to your Bible Study class and introduce you to the teacher. If you have children the greeter will take you to the children’s classes first so you can see our rooms and meet the teacher. If you have an infant you will be given a card to fill out for information on feeding, allergies, and other special needs.
… Engaging Bible Studyv You will find our preschool and children’s rooms to be well supplied and clean. Every door has a window in it. Each teacher is trained and has the material to teach an active class. No boring lectures here! v In Bible Study you will not be expected to know how to use a Bible, you will not be expected to read from the Bible, and you will not be called on to pray. In fact if you just want to sit and listen that is just fine. Or if you have comments and questions you are more than welcome to participate in the discussion.
… Authentic Worshipv Nursery care is provided for children through the age of 3. After this age we encourage parents to bring their children into worship. We consider it a privilege to teach children how to worship. It is exciting, though it may try your patience at times, to watch your children learn how to follow along with the songs and take notes during the service. v Every child is given a “Kids Can Worship Too” page. On this paper they can draw a picture if they are too young to write, or you can help them fill in their page. After the service they are given the opportunity to get a reward when their paper is presented. v Someone from the class or a greeter will show you where the Worship Center is located. v Honestly you won’t experience a professional quality music service. But you will be with people who have a genuine heart worshipping God. Our theory is that God is more concerned about our heart than the quality of our voice. We would rather hear someone sing a little off key that has a heart overflowing with God’s goodness, than someone who has a sensational voice but there heart is dead cold. v The goal of the preaching is to explain the Bible in such a way that you not only understand what God is saying but you know how to apply God’s will and wisdom into your life.
